Michael De Paulo Spring 2010 Collection at The Liberty Hotel

As someone who enjoys beautiful eveningwear, I couldn't wait to see what local designer Michael De Paulo had in store for us at the first ever, Boston Fashion Week installment of Fashionably Late at The Liberty Hotel.
The hotel was filled for Michael's show and even Rag & Bone designers Marcus Wainright and David Neville were spotted in the VIP section. The designers were in town to host a show at Saks Fifth Avenue in Copley.
Helping out with Michael's show was his good friend Tonya Chen Mezrich. Before she became a host for Style Boston, Tonya would often wear Michael De Paulo's gowns to many special occasions. Tonya was recently photographed

Tonya is also an emerging jewelry designer. She provided all the jewelry for the show. Jewelry by Tonya is currently available at Moxie, Stil and Serenella Boston.
Also helping out Michael was stylist Gerard Vallecello. Gerard has clients in Boston, New York and Miami. He was very eager to help in any way with Michael's show.
For the Spring 2010 collection, I saw a lot of the architectural folding and pleating elements that Michael De Paulo is known for. The collection was full of color with lots of bright reds, pink and light blues. Metallics were seen as well with the gold metallics being a designer favorite. Michael is expanding his work to include more prints and more touches of beading and embroidery. The young designer is always looking for ways to enhance his collection.
I had a lot of favorites in this collection. Tops on my list were the silver and pink dresses, the gold metallic dresses and the black and white floral, one shoulder dress.
