Boston gets "Classy" with Derek Blasberg
by Ian Larraga
Hot of the heels of his book signing party in Barneys New York, writer Derek Blasberg makes a rare visit to Boston for the second stop of his whirlwind book signing tour.
Unlike the New York party which included lots of celebrity guest and local designers, this was a more toned down affair with lots of close friends and family in attendance. Derek's parents were happily watching in the background as he graciously signed books and gave advice to the local Bostonian audience.
Derek's book, "Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady" is a witty, tongue-in-cheek guide for acting, dating and dressing with grace, style and confidence in modern high society. As a fashion and society writer for top publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and W Magazine, Derek Blasberg has befriend many of the young ladies of high society and a lot of what he's learned, are all in the book.
Making a surprise appearance to the book signing was Derek's good friend, socialite and star of the reality show "High Society", Tinsley Mortimer. Tinsley was in Boston to host a fashion show at a local nightclub. She brought along her friend, celebrity make-up artist Jasen Kaplan. A few lucky guests had books signed by both Derek and Tinsley.
