The ICA 360 2nd Anniversary Party hosts the Fashion Stars of the Future
by Ian L.
As the owner of Louis Boston, the city's most famous independent fashion boutique, Debi Greenberg is well connected in the fashion industry. She certainly put those connections to good use as the new co-chair and host of the Institute of Contemporary Art's 360 2nd Anniversary Party. Debi invited the hottest young stars on the New York fashion scene which included Jason Wu, Elise Overland, Sari Gueron, Lyn Devon, Brian Reyes, Bryan Bradley for Tuleh, and Chris Benz to put on an informal fashion show and to party with Boston's most fashionable at a newly decorated ICA. Also invited was Ashley Olsen, who is set to debut a new luxury fashion line next fall with her sister Mary Kate.
The ICA was transformed into a chic nightclub for this special occasion. The dining area became a dancefloor complete with a gorgeous DJ wearing one of the designer's dresses. The foyer provided a space to display the designers' fashions on mannequins while live models interacted with the guests. The 2nd floor became a chic, new dining area with entrees provided by Wolfgang Puck Catering. I of course went strait to the bar.
The designers arrived an hour into the evening and were met with great applause and an even greater amount of cameras ready for the photo op. A few hundred flash bulbs later the designers split up to speak with various media reporters which included The Globe, WGBH TV and Women's Wear Daily. Afterwards I went with the designers on a private tour of the Museum's exhibits on the third floor. Photography was not allowed in that area so it provided the designers a brief and welcomed respite from the fans and the media. To close out the evening, the designers were treated to dinner where they mingled with guests. To no surprise, Ashley left before dinner.
The response to the party was overwhelmingly positive by both the guests and the designers. I, myself had a fabulous time. Debi Greenberg assures me that the 3rd Anniversary party will be just as fabulous but is keeping the theme of the party and the guest designers a secret for now. It's a shame we'll have to wait another year but in the meantime we can shop at Louis Boston where they exclusively carry most of the designers that showed for the evening. Also, don't forget to visit the ICA for other special holiday events.
