Boldfacers hosts: The Stylemakers Pop-Up Shop
by Ian J Larraga

Once again, Lisa Pierpont and her team at Boldfacers is on the leading edge of hip, innovative and unabashedly fun events. Honestly, when you put together a pop-up shop that involves cocktails, bargain priced designer fashions and the stylists, editors and beautiful people that wear them, who can resist? It's a win, win, win situation.

For two days only, lucky shoppers got a chance to mingle with and shop from the racks of Shayna Seymour, Marilyn Riseman, Lisa Hughes, Corinne Grousbeck, Erica Corsano, Rachel Baker, Alyssa Giacobbe, Jill Radsken, Leighann Farrelly and Boldfacer's own Lisa Pierpont. The best time to go of course was on Friday night for the little party.

The crew of Channel 5's Chronicle stopped in Friday night to film a segment for an upcoming show. Lisa Pierpont was showing a few of the great bargain finds to Shayna Seymour and spoke briefly about a dress for sale made by local designer Michael De Paulo. As fate would have it, Michael was there just a few feet away, completely unaware of the conversation.

Of course this entire event wasn't all about the joys of second hand consumerism. A portion of the proceeds raised from the sales of clothing went to various chairities. Corinne Grousbeck, voted by the Boston Globe as one of the city's most fashionable people, chose to donate to the Perkins School for the Blind where her son Campbell attends. Marilyn Riseman chose to donate to The American Cancer Society. Fashion editor Erica Corsano chose to donate to Rogerson Communities, a housing and health care provider for both elderly and low income families. This pop-up shop took place a few days before the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti. There's no doubt in my mind that the ladies would have chosen to donate to Haiti had this event started the weekend after the quake.

Be sure to visit Boldfacers.com to find out more about their other upcoming events. This pop-up may or may not be a one time deal but there's lots of interesting things going on that you won't want to miss.
